What customers say?

“ An amazing, authentic Italian cafe!! No AC, good espresso, and fresh pastries and sandwiches. I got the iced pumpkin latte + mini donut and they were both delicious! The iced latte was like a slushie but so creamy because it’s made with organic Italian milk! The owner took my order which was very cool ”

“ This Italian café is a true hidden gem! The prices are unbelievably affordable, with coffee for just $2.50 that's absolutely fantastic. Their desserts are nothing short of perfection, each crafted with great care. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. If you're a fan of authentic Italian flavors, this place is a must-visit! ”

“ The cafe was featured on the morning news. First time we went, was too late (5 minutes to closing and the place was closed). Only outdoor seating available, most tables under umbrellas. Store is small- food items, and baked goods in a few display cases. Got our picks with tongs. Some were not labeled clearly though so we asked one of the staff behind the counter. She described them, was very helpful and pleasant. I missed one case with the pistachio corneto, so for next time. The bigne (cream puff) had good chocolate filling. The ciambella (donut) with the pearl-like bits we thought was hazelnut but was labeled as coconut on the receipt- didn't taste either flavor, sweet glaze though. The maritozzo is a sweet bun filled with whipped cream and ricotta. I liked this one, wasn't heavy and not so sweet. The cronut was dense, and was just topped with a small dollop of custard and strawberry piece. Our latte and iced coffee prices weren't bad. Went well with the sweet pastries. Maybe need milk, hot chocolate for non-coffee drinkers. ”

“ The manager/owner greeted my family and I as soon as we entered, which was very nice I thought. Both the drinks and the food taste very good, and the staff made you feel welcomed! The space is tiny, but if you have a smaller party, then I would definitely recommend!! ⬛ ”

“ Hello Casasalvo's Owner! You're 100% authentic Italian Guy! It felt like a stroke of destiny this morning when I walked by and discovered your wonderful coffee shop. As I had very little intention on finding an authentic Italian spot in this classic American neighborhood on Amsterdam Avenue, but there you were! Among all the American-style places, yours truly stands out as #Italian. I absolutely love that you play Italian and French music while customers are enjoying their "caffè". And your "one size one price" philosophy, That's the exact principle I used when I launched my own Italian coffee shop—it's truly unique. The bakery is great, too, though I have to tell you: my personal favorite is that Rosemary Tomato Salad right next to your Pistachios Muffins./. ”

“ Came here to try cornetto al pistacchio. I was not disappointed. It tastes like the ones in Italy and the price is super reasonable almost like in Europe. I have also tried sfogliatella frolla napoletana, and it was delicious as well. Coffee has a good taste unlike most places of the city. Highly recommended for the quality and adorability!!! I hope they stick to it. ”

“ The best of the best! Unbeatable Italian quality! I loved the coffee, especially their cappuccino. My friend and I shared a pistachio croissant, and I honestly think it’s the best I’ve ever had — and I’m Italian! Also, the cannolis come from Sicily!! You go there for the ambiance, the coffee, and the pastries. I’ve heard the salads and panini are excellent too — can’t wait to try them next time! ”
